چکیده

The present layout of the indoor wireless mesh network test-bed build at the Meraka Institute is introduced. This is followed by a description of a numerical electromagnetic model for the complete test-bed, including the coupling and diffraction effects, as generated with WIPL-D Pro. The results of numerical simulations are compared with the measurements. The findings help to quantify errors and provide grounds for suggestions towards improving the test-bed’s design. Key-Words: electromagnetic propagation, wireless mesh network, wireless test-bed.

A Study of Propagation Effects in a Wireless Test Bed

The paper discusses several effects influencing the propagation in a laboratory wireless test bed, and also aspects important for designing and setting up the wireless test bed with space constraints. A numerical electromagnetic model for the full scale 7×7 wireless mesh network test-bed is discussed. The model includes the coupling and diffraction effects, and is based on the method of moments...

Numerical Solution of Seismic Wave Propagation Equation in Uniform Soil on Bed Rock with Weighted Residual Method

To evaluate the earth seismic response due to earthquake effects, ground response analyses are used to predict ground surface motions for development of design response spectra, to compute dynamic stresses and strains for evaluation of liquefaction hazards, and to determine the earthquake induced forces that can lead to instability of earth and earth-retaining structures. Most of the analytical...

Deploying and configuring wireless mesh network in coexistence of highly interfering wireless LANs

In wireless mesh network, environmental conditions and location of “nodes” on the network are largely unpredictable and in a constant state of change. Heterogeneous signal propagation patterns in addition to interference from existing infrastructure pose significant challenges for a wireless mesh network design. In this paper, we explore, by experiments, link performance results produced at Qat...

A two dimensional Simulation of crack propagation using Adaptive Finite Element Analysis

Finite element method (FEM) is one of the most famous methods which has many applications in varies studies such as the study of crack propagation in engineering structures. However, unless extremely fine meshes are employed, problem arises in accurately modelling the singular stress field in the singular element area around the crack tip. In the present study, the crack growth simulation has b...

Numerical Study on Resistance of a Bulk Carrier Vessel Using CFD Method

Bulk carriers have an important role in international maritime transport. In this paper, we carried out a numerical study on a model of bulk carrier vessel and calculated total resistance of the model. A model of a bulk carrier vessel with length of 2.76 m, breadth of 0.403 m and draught of 0.173 m was selected for numerical modeling. Numerical work was done by commercial CFD software ANSY...
